Acutts Queensburgh goes big on small at Malvern Children’s Home
Category News
Acutts Queensburgh donated various food and cleaning products to the Malvern Children’s Home as part of The Acutts Cares Program Initiative. It has definitely been a great success; they teamed up with various other community members to give the children of Malvern Children’s home an extra special Christmas. Members of the chapter all contributed towards purchasing necessities to add to the Christmas spirit.
Malvern Children’s home was established in 1963 with a vision to give hope to children in need. They currently have 123 children in their care. 51 boys and 72 girls, ages 3 – 18 years from all races and cultures.
The Children’s Home cares for children who have nobody to take care of them sufficiently due to poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, and domestic violence.
Family breakdown is common. Child neglect and child abuse are still rife in the community. There has been an increase in the number of orphans as a result of the HIV and Aids pandemic.
Children are accommodated and taken in who have been exposed to severe neglect and abuse and get the care that they need from the Malvern Children’s Home.
They also have children in their home who are mentally challenged and need special care.
A huge thank you for your contribution to our community from the entire Acutts family. Well done Acutts Queensburgh!
